Sustainable Mining and Our ESG Mission

Critical Minerals Group’s approach to Sustainability and ESG in mining is centred around four key principles.

Ethics and Accountability

Ethical Values

Critical Minerals Group is aware that consistent ethical behaviour cultivates a culture of care and trust. This is crucial to our long-term profitability and overarching goal of maximising shareholder value when it comes to ESG investing Australia wide. We strongly defy dishonest or illegal activities or anything of the kind that attempts to breach trust.

We promote a culture of acting ethically with transparency and openness in all our operations and incorporate a ‘safe to speak up culture’ in our Whistle-blower Policy.

Trust

We live in a world where public trust in institutions is very much declining in the new era of sustainable mining. A lack of trust undermines social cohesion leading to social and economic instability.

Critical Minerals Group’s business model is based on trust. For us to earn this trust, Critical Minerals Group is dedicated to becoming a leader in corporate transparency and disclosure, enabling our stakeholders to hold a better understanding of the way we work and to form their own views based upon reliable information.

Stakeholder Respect and Engagement

Stakeholder engagement is of utmost importance in Critical Minerals Group’s approach to investor relations, public affairs, communications, and brand positioning. Our long-term success is centred around our ability to build relationships with business partners, governments, non-government organisations, host communities and other stakeholders. Not only is closely identifying individual stakeholders essential for ESG in mining but taking the time to understand their needs plays an integral role in Critical Minerals Group and our social license to operate.

 Mineral Traceability

Critical Minerals Group wish for our stakeholders to be confident and assured that the critical minerals we extract are ethically sourced. To make sustainable mining possible and have such assurances, Critical Minerals Group endeavours to build a high level of trust for our stakeholders through effective due diligence measures. When it comes to ESG investing Australia wide, we aim to be transparent and have open processes that review mineral traceability and chain of custody information. By putting in place a robust control system over our supply chain, stakeholders can be assured that we have carried out all the necessary steps and taken appropriate preventative measures to eliminate the risk of contributing to conflict and human rights abuses. Stakeholders can also use the chain of custody system to trace the material back to its origin which is our commitment when it comes to ESG in mining.

Products for a Sustainable Future

The term ‘New economy minerals’ refers to the range of metals and mineral elements utilised for production in various industry trends including electric vehicles, renewable energy products, low-emission power sources, consumer devices, and products for the medical, defence and scientific research sectors. These critical minerals are not only essential to the advancement of these industry trends but also to the economic development of industrialised countries. Critical Minerals Group’s diversified portfolio of minerals focuses particularly on these “new economy minerals”, each, directly and indirectly, supporting a future in sustainable mining.

 Community and People

Our ‘people approach’ seeks to attract and retain talented people while building and maintaining a diverse, inclusive, and high-achieving workforce. Critical Minerals Group realises the importance of the help from our valued employees in contributing to a sustainable future and their positive impact on ESG investing Australia wide. As such, Critical Minerals Group is committed to giving back to the community by creating local employment opportunities either directly or indirectly. We are committed to hiring, training, and retaining the best local talent by building upon their capabilities and providing a flexible working environment. We believe that this results in a productive and engaged workforce which contributes to the overall ESG in mining.

 Environmental Management

Critical Minerals Group acknowledges that the nature of our operations can potentially have an environmental impact. As such, we understand we have a role in minimising adverse environmental impacts throughout all stages of our operational activity and have frameworks, policies, and processes in place to meet our environmental goals. We intend to conduct our activities to the highest standard of environmental obligation, including compliance with all environmental laws regarding sustainable mining. We value responsible environmental management and seek to be effective environmental stewards to the best of our ability.

We aim to be effective environmental stewards through:

  • Effective Resource Optimisation and Site Rehabilitation

  • Strict Water Management

  • Energy Efficiency
